The Atlantic Edge Conference is presented by Playwrights Guild of Canada and Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre on October 5th - 6 th, 2019. The two day conference is designed for creators, academics and enthusiasts and is held in Fredericton, New Brunswick. There are programs, workshops and opportunities to schmooze as well as a free Cabaret on Saturday night.
PARC member Len Falkenstein will join PGC's Robin Sokoloski and Project Coordinator Leila Darragh on Saturday at 4:15 pm for a discussion about professional theatre challenges and solutions. Saturday evening at 7:30 pm is the Spotlight Atlantic Cabaret, hosted by PARC and emceed by PARC member Jamie Bradley. On Sunday the round table Shared Vision, Shared Vision, at 11:30 am, invites discussion on relationships between different roles within the theatre world. At the table will be Tessa Mendel, Director of Halifax Theatre for Young People, Pamela Halstead, PARC's Artistic Director, Jeremy Webb, Artistic Director of Neptune Theatre and playwright Andrea Scott. The Atlantic Edge Conference seeks to provide opportunities for career-advancement, networking and relationship-building among Canadian theatre creators, as well as to spotlight and celebrate the Atlantic theatre communities. Registration is open to all.
The cost is $60 plus HST for PGC and PARC members and $85 plus HST for non members.
