Registration is now open for Neptune Theatre’s NEW VOICES SYMPOSIUM.
Spend an inspiring day with the brilliant creatives behind the world-premiere of Andrea Scott’s Controlled Damage, presented by Neptune Theatre in association with b current performing arts! The program includes a workshop, a panel, and a matinee performance of Controlled Damage on Saturday, February 8.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
The NEW VOICES SYMPOSIUM is designed for burgeoning artists and playwrights interested in the process of developing and sharing stories that uniquely reflect their community, culture and experience. Space is limited to 25 participants.

Join Catherine Hernandez, Artistic Director of b current performing arts, as she guides us to a more equitable creative practice in a Decolonized Theatre Workshop.
11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Engage with Andrea Scott, playwright of Controlled Damage and Nigel Shawn Williams, director of the world-premiere production, as they share their processes and empower us with inside knowledge of the creative industries.
2:00 pm – 4:30 pm
Experience Controlled Damage, the compelling story about Viola Desmond’s decision to challenge racial segregation in 1946, and the impact one woman can have on the course of history.
