June 04, 2018

Colleen MacIsaac

Colleen MacIsaac is a multi-disciplinary artist originally from the prairies, currently working in Halifax as a performer, producer, and playwright. Her re-imagining of Margaret Cavendish's The Blazing World recently premiered on the Neptune Scotiabank Studio stage before touring to Saint John Theatre Company this month. She enjoys creating microscopic works, and to that end her small scripts dark matter and Cartography have been performed in the Halifax Fringe, with additional short works being produced at Halifax’s 24 Hour Theatre Thing. Colleen has written and illustrated a number of award-nominated minicomics, and created animated shorts which have screened on four continents. She is the 2016 recipient of the Halifax Mayor's Award for Emerging Theatre Artist, and is a member of the Bus Stop Theatre Cooperative's Playwright's Unit. Her adaptation of several short works by Dorothy Parker (with co-adaptor Dan Roy) will be produced this fall in the Halifax Fringe http://littlefoible.net
