The PARC Playwright Profile for March 2021 is Alison Crosby!

March 03, 2021

Alison Crosby is a theatre artist originally from Cape Breton Island / Unama’ki and currently
based in Halifax / K’jipuktuk. She is a graduate from the Theatre Studies program at Mount
Allison University. Alison has been fortunate enough to participate in the annual PARC
Retreat twice: once in 2016 with her play As If You Were Normal and in last year’s online retreat
with In Lieu of Flowers. The latter is currently under development with the support of Neptune
Theatre’s INKubator Project, for which she is the inaugural participant. Her latest script, a
comedy about death tentatively titled Irrelevant, is being developed as part of the Highland Arts
Theatre’s Playwriting Unit. The HAT Playwriting Unit also presented a reading of her play
[Stuck Between Pages] in 2018. Alison loves diving into new scripts, despite knowing that she will
never surpass the legacy of the short play Seven Remain, a post-apocalyptic sci-fi mystery,
which she wrote with six of her friends at the age of thirteen. What can you do?
