Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre announces the upcoming departure of our Artistic Director, Pamela Halstead

Jun 7, 2023

Pamela Halstead assumed the AD position back in 2017, and since then, the organization grew to offer members across the four Atlantic provinces professional dramaturgical support for relevant new work in our communities.

“As some of you already know, I have decided to leave PARC at the end of this season. It is time for a change and time to step aside and let new leadership take the helm. Many organizations offer women and racialized or other historically disenfranchised artists opportunities in secondary roles, but when the time comes to fill the leadership positions they are not given the opportunity to lead. I am so thrilled as I step away from PARC to leave it in the very capable hands of Santiago Guzmán, who has been my apprentice and my mentor over these last three years. He will step into the role of Interim Artistic Director. I am excited to see how PARC grows under his leadership.
It has been my great pleasure to serve this membership. It is always an honour to be invited into your processes and to be trusted with your stories, your brains and your hearts. Thank you. I will continue to work on your behalf as a support for Santi, a dramaturge, an advocate and a champion for your voices.”
