The PARC Playwright Profile for September 2022 is Robyn Vivian!

Robyn Vivian is a theatre artist – actor, playwright, puppeteer, sometimes administrator – and writer based in St. John’s, Ktaqmkuk (colonially known as Newfoundland). She holds a BFA in Theatre (Acting) from Memorial University. Production credits include: I Forgive You, The Imaginary Real, and Everybody Just C@lm the F#ck Down (Artistic Fraud); Room For a Pony (Persistence Theatre); and The Fire Kedgy’s Howl (Neighbourhood Dance Works/National Arts Centre).

Select performance credits include: Other Worlds (Geordie Theatre); Sideshow Absurdica (Under The Bridge Productions); The Kraken and The Brass Button Man (Under The Bridge Productions/Salt Teeth Theatre Co./RCAT); The Tales of Dwipa (White Rooster Theatre/RCAT); and I want that free mind! and Cross Stitch (Power Productions/lemonTree creations).

Playwriting credits include: Equinox (in development); Lights Out (Theatre Perimetric, Women’s Work Festival, PARC Playwrights’ Retreat); Deeper (Unnatural Disaster Theatre, Page 1 Theatre); and SNATCH (Theatre Perimetric). Robyn’s scripts have been supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, ArtsNL, and the City of St. John’s. Her digital short BURROW (Eastern Front Theatre) was released under the EFT Micro Digital Creation Project series, and was presented again at CB Nuit. Robyn has also written columns for The Tempest and Riddle Fence.
