Playwright/DramaturgeBIO
Noah Deas is a playwright and otherwise theatre artist who hails from the Maritimes. Now, he finds himself in the beautiful city of Montreal, where he takes great interest in the cats that seemingly run the back alley behind his apartment like the navy. He is a soon-to-be graduate of the Playwriting Program at the National Theatre School of Canada, where he will present a full production of his graduating play, CERBERUS (dir. Emma Welham, dramaturgy by Eric Micha Holmes), in April/May of 2026. Some of his other plays include Codename: Ladybug (TYA, dramaturgy by Dean Patrick Fleming), ONLY! WAY! OUT! (Staged Reading, dir. Andrea Romaldi, NTS), and Every Apple in the Orchard (dramaturgy by Vern Thiessen, Notable Acts, 2020). Noah’s work is deeply unserious, until the audience finds out that the unserious elements have all been a tool used to make them more vulnerable to the emotional truth at the core. Noah is interested in creating plays that explore popular idolatry, pipe dreams, proximity, and queerness—all through a lens of true theatrical spectacle.
