BIO

I'm a sometimes poet, sometimes photographer currently living in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I found my way here after completing 2 university degrees. I grew up in what I call the one true city of New Brunswick, Moncton. There I was raised on city-tempered rural hegemonic masculinity that was heightened by geek culture. After tumbling around Computer Science and Business Degrees at the University of New Brunswick, I settled into media analysis and production via UNB's Media Arts and Cultures program, from which I graduated with first class honours in 2015.  From there I went on to study video games and culture in the University of Waterloo's English Department while examining my gender (some semblance of nonbinary/agender boy, the specifics are tough) and biracial (Arab{Lebanese}/White) privilege and heritage through poetry in a poetry collection I'm still workshopping and hoping to soon pitch to publishers. While at the University of Waterloo I got to work on many game and video projects through the wonderful Games Institute.    I moved to Halifax in 2017, and have tumbled through increasingly better paid customer service jobs. While settling into Halifax, I worked as a dramaturge for Lucia Dodaro's production of Arcadia for the Dalhousie Theatre Society. Ever since moving to Halifax there has been a play in my brain, and after poking at it in bits and pieces while trying to figure out this life postschool, I finally finished the first draft of "Sonder" this year (2025). I want to see this put on, and want to join Playwrights Atlantic in order to both motivate and assist me in that dream.
