Shanice Pereira

Shanice Pereira is an Ottawa-based innovative multidisciplinary artist and passionate arts administrator, working to blend artistic disciplines, accessibility, and equity into a range of creative practices. Her work spans playwriting, directing, theatre production, photography, filmmaking, and poetry. Shanice is deeply inspired by her Afro-Caribbean and multiracial upbringing, queer identity and passion for healing and connection to guide her creation and collaboration process. Her creative works aim to explore the complexities of inner self and their juxtaposition to versions of self that exist in community, telling stories of self-acceptance, healing and communal exploration of what people mean to each other. Shanice’s work has been showcased in the Youth Infringement Festival, Fresh Meat Festival’s digital platform, TACTICS and independently as she continues to learn and grow in collaboration with arts organizations in Ottawa and beyond.
