Down To The Wood: A Playwriting Workshop with Andrea Scott

Jan 19, 2022

“Down to the Wood” with Andrea Scott
February 18-20, 2022

This workshop will be about taking an idea, a sketch of an idea and turning it into the beginning of a first draft. Using images, themes, and motivation (which all start with character), Andrea will help a playwright take that spark of an idea into a story that can live on stage. You can join this workshop regardless of where your piece is in progress – an idea, some scenes or a full draft!

UPDATED! Sessions will happen remotely Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. Weekend ends with virtual public reading where Andrea Scott reads from her own work and the workshop participants can share excerpts of their work, as they feel comfortable.

Schedule:
Friday, February 18 6-9 pm AST
Saturday, February 19 1-4 pm AST
Sunday, February 20 1-4 pm AST
Reading event: Sunday. February 20 7-9 pm AST (participant reading of work is not mandatory)

Cost is only $20*.
*If the cost is prohibitive to taking this workshop, please reach out to PARC and arrangements will be made for you to attend.
