PARC Offers New Play Development Workshops in Western NL

Jun 12, 2024

With the generous support of ArtsNL’s Year of the Arts Initiative, Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre (PARC) is thrilled to bring new play development to Western Newfoundland!

PARC welcomes submissions from playwrights at all levels in their careers based in Corner Brook, NL (and/or surrounding areas) to develop new plays through our New Play Development Workshop Series.

Two playwrights will receive the opportunity to have an intensive process with professional dramaturgical support by PARC’s Artistic Director and award-wining playwright, Santiago Guzmán, to further develop their scripts. Workshops are based on a model with one-on-one dramaturge and playwright meetings, a minimum of three sessions of 3 hours with professional actors, including time in between each session of at least one full day for the playwright to write and revise their work. This process will culminate with a public reading with an opportunity for feedback and conversation facilitated by the dramaturge.

Dates: July 29 – August 3, 2024
Location: Rotary Arts Centre, Corner Brook, NL
Submission Deadline: June 21, 2024

Please note:

  • The only eligibility criteria is that you are/become a PARC Member
  • Playwrights may submit ideally a completed script. If that is not available we will accept a partially completed work in progress.
