PARC Supports Louis Anthony Bryan’s Artist in Residency Project Through artsnb (NB)

Oct 14, 2024

PARC is thrilled to share we will be supporting Louis Anthony Bryan’s Artist in Residency project graciously funded by artsnb.

Louis Anthony Bryan (he/him) is a theatre artist and educator from Trinidad and Tobago. A graduate of St Thomas University’s English program, Anthony is based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, working primarily as a writer, dramaturge, and stand-up comedian.

During this residency, Anthony will be developing a revisionist historical romance set against a backdrop of Caribbean myth and folklore, as an opportunity to learn how to write about where he is from and where he is going with love, empathy and humanity. For the next couple months he will be working closely with PARC’s AD, Santiago Guzmán, as his dramaturge to write the first draft of a play inspired by Shakespearean dramas, ‘storms as ghost stories’, duels and decadence, and distant coastlines finding one another.

Anthony is a contributing member of his local art scene. He has been affiliated with several theater and film companies, including the Union of Black Artists Society, Rebel Femme Productions, Notable Acts, TNB Young Company, and Strike Pictures. His most recent credits include: directing Concrete and Plaster: a one-act play written by Neomi Iudit for a one-time performance at Flourish Festival 2024 in Fredericton, New Brunswick; and his performance as Joey, in Love Peace and Hairgrease, an original musical directed by Tara Taylor and produced by Eastern Front Theatre and the Charles Taylor Theatre.
