Synopsis
Love, Mona is based on the remarkable true story of Nova Scotia-born Mona Parsons, who is the only known Canadian civilian woman imprisoned in Nazi Germany in WW2. Arrested for her resistance work in the Netherlands, Mona was sentenced to death, but that sentence was commuted to hard labour in German prisons and camps. She and a young Dutch baroness escaped in early 1945 and made their way through battlefields and destruction back to the Netherlands just in time to find the North Nova Highlanders regiment at the Dutch border.
