BIO

Having spent decades as an author, journalist, poet and screenwriter, Gretchen realized that she had not tried writing a play. After her one-act drama, Orchids Can Be Destroyed, was performed by Saint John Theatre Co. in 2016, she began to expand it into a musical. With the wonderful work of composers Deb Adshade and Theresa Patterson, the project is now ready for music workshops: She fought for freedom the way she fought for love. With All Her Might This new musical tells the exciting story of Gert Harding, a militant suffragette from New Brunswick (and Gretchen's great-aunt). It has been developed with generous support from artsnb, the Canada Council and Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre.
