Cindy Lapeña

Cindy has been writing plays since she was very young. In 2007, she won 3rd prize in the Carlos Palanca National Literary Awards in the Philippines for her full length play in English, "The Piano." She also writes nonfiction, fiction, and poetry, and has published 3 novels. Besides writing, Cindy is an exhibited artist and teacher of art, theatre, writing, and literature. She has also done her share of acting in both film and on stage. Cindy has directed for stage and worked with a repertory theatre company in the Philippines. As Executive Director of a dance company, she produced six major performances in a year, designed lights and costumes, and choreographed several pieces. Although busy with her tutoring and private teaching, she still hopes to find more time to write plays.
