Jana Gillis

Jana Gillis is an actor, writer, director and improviser from Cape Breton, NS currently based in St. John's, NL. She’s written 4 produced short films, a number of plays, sketches, and has a whole bunch of scripts in her Celtx account from various screenwriting & playwriting challenges. Her shorts have screened at SJIWFF, FIN, The Nickel Independent Film Festival, HIFF, TOSketchFest & various Sci-Fi & Fantasy Conventions throughout Atlantic Canada. Her plays have been performed in the St. John’s Short Play Festival (of which she was also a founding member), with the Cape Breton Stage Company, Unit 102 in Toronto, and some playgrounds around the Maritimes. She holds a BFA in Acting from MUN’s Grenfell Campus and a red t-shirt with a chair on it from The Second City Toronto (Sketch Conservatory).
