BIO

Jessie Walker (she/they) is a queer, multi-disciplinary artist, theatre-maker, and veritable jack-of-all-trades, originally from unceded Wabanaki land (colonially known as Maine, USA.) She is now so honored to call Kjipuktuk her artistic home and feels incredibly thankful for the work she has had the opportunity to create in Halifax! Jessie most recently served as associate producer for Shakespeare by the Sea’s 2023 summer season, and served as company manager of Opera House Arts (an AEA Small Professional Theater located in Stonington, Maine,) from 2020 to 2022. In their work as a multi-hyphenate performer, producer, playwright, and arts administrator, she has collaborated with a multitude of Canadian and American arts organizations, including Shakespeare by the Sea, Prismatic Arts Festival, Arrivals Legacy Project, Halifax Fringe, The Unnatural Disaster Theatre Co., programsound.fm, The Villain’s Theatre, Threadbare Theatre Workshop, Opera House Arts, Queen Doris Productions, Fountain School of Performing Arts, and Black Box Players (in association with Syracuse University.)
