Barry Burns

Barry Burns selected biography highlights I am a semi retired theatre professional. My professional career has been primarily focused on Stage Management and Company Management across Canada and the U.S.A. I also have a smattering of experience in acting, stage tech, and producing. In addition I have had some experience in the world of film and television, as an actor, background performer, and crew. In the mid 1970's, and with little experience and no training in theatre, I joined the fledgling Great Canadian Theatre Company which began my life long love affair with live theatre. Over the course of my career I have been most fortunate to grow from that modest beginning. I have been blessed to have met and collaborated with an astonishing number of gifted artists and creators. My career has grown from small alternate theatres like GCTC to regional theatres across Canada, and both of our nation's top summer festivals. I have had the honour of working for Cirque Du Soleil and The National Ballet of Canada. Some of my favourite career highlights were working on hit musicals such as Hal Prince's productions PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, SHOW BOAT as well CATS, and most recently, "PARADISE SQUARE" on Broadway. As I mentioned above, I am semi retired. Now that I am "at liberty" I am returning my focus to writing projects that have been wanting further development as well as growing a new career in the VoiceOver acting industry.
