BIO

Hank Stinson Actor/Writer/Director. Born in Victoria BC, Hank studied theatre at UBC, became a professional actor at the Vancouver Playhouse, gradually working his way across the country with stops at Northern Light Theatre in Edmonton, Manitoba Theatre Centre, Rainbow Stage in Winnipeg, Theatre Sudbury, The Press Theatre in Niagara, Ports of Call in Toronto and The Stratford Festival Theatre. But that was all before he arrived on PEI in 1980 to be part of the Charlottetown Festival. Here he has remained for 29 seasons as Actor/Writer/Director, with occasional side trips to Neptune Theatre in Halifax, Theatre Sudbury in Ontario, and Theatre New Brunswick in Fredericton . In addition to having played all the men in Anne of Green Gables, including Matthew Cuthbert, he has been writer/co-creator in eight original Canadian musicals for the Charlottetown Festival; Glenda’s Kitchen, Canada Rocks, Something Wonderful, Flash in the Pan, Lunch With Leacock, The Winkle Pickers, A Child’s Garden of Verses, and Songs of The Island. Hank has adapted three L.M. Montgomery novels for the stage; The Blue Castle, Emily of New Moon, and Rainbow Valley. In addition, he has written two musical revues based on the life and work of LM Montgomery; Gable Window, and Maud’s People. Hank is happily retired, but still addicted to musical theatre, not so much as an actor now, but a devoted Writer and Audience Member.
