Obediya Jones-Darrell is a playwright and music composer. Hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Obediya broke into Cleveland's theater scene, (the 2nd largest theater district in the United States), by collaborating with major companies like Cleveland Public Theatre, where he held the position of music composer fellow, and Karamu House, the oldest African-American theater company in the United States. He has also composed music for theater productions throughout the United States, including Cleveland Playhouse Theatre, Maelstrom Collaborative Arts, and the Radical Buffoons (New Orleans). A renowned music producer, Mr. Jones-Darrell has composed music performed by the Grammy award-winning Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Nova Scotia, Budapest Symphony Orchestra & Vancouver's Art Song Lab. His versatility across these partnerships with many different types of artists highlights his creative range, and ability to adapt and excel in various musical styles and genres.
