Robyn Vivian

Robyn Vivian is a playwright and performer with a distaste for reality and a keen interest in screwing with it. Originally from Newfoundland, she is currently based in Halifax. Her written works include stage plays Equinox (Zee Zee Theatre), Lights Out (in development), Deeper (Unnatural Disaster Theatre, Page 1 Theatre), SNATCH (Theatre Perimetric), and Salvage (co-written with Logan Robins) (Bus Stop Theatre); short screenplay BURROW (Eastern Front Theatre, CB Nuit); articles with The Tempest and Riddle Fence; and a growing collection of poetry. Robyn’s writing has been supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, ArtsNL, and the City of St. John’s, and her script Equinox was one of five plays developed through the inaugural National Queer and Trans Playwriting Unit (spearheaded by Zee Zee Theatre). Her play Deeper received the Audience Choice Award at OutFest 2024, followed by the Robert Merritt Award for Outstanding Emerging Production.
