BIO

Anna Burkholder (she/they) is a neurodiverse theatre creator and performer based in Tiohtià:ke (Montréal), originally from Northern British Columbia. In 2024, her debut play, Caravan, was produced by Tableau D’Hôte Theatre in Montreal, examining Canada’s historical fight for legalized abortion. The play follows a road trip from Vancouver to Ottawa, inspired by the historic 1970 Abortion Caravan, drawing from Anna's research and interviews with the original Caravaners. Anna is fascinated by landscapes and cross-country treks, often weaving these themes into her work with humour and heart. She is currently developing two theatre pieces for young audiences that explore themes of home and belonging.
