BIO

Ted (Frederick) Leighton OC is professor emeritus at the University of Saskatchewan and professeur associé at Université Sainte-Anne. From 1984 to 2015, he was a professor of veterinary pathology at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. Since retiring from academic science, he has focused on creative writing and local nature conservation projects. His first novel, A Ring of Justice, was published in 2022 and his second, Knowers and Lovers, in 2024. A book of memoir stories, People of Cove and Woodlot: Stories Across 100 Years of Memory, co-authored with his late father and which includes a one-act play, will be published in March 2025. He lives in Bear River, Nova Scotia.
