BIO

W.A. Hamilton lives in her hometown of Sault Ste. Marie, in Northern Ontario, a place she describes as the vortex between the regional theatres of Sudbury and Thunder Bay but the inspiration for much of her art. She is the recipient of a Community Recognition Award for her contribution to the cultural life of the city. For more than 30 years her theatre company, Theatre in Motion, has been producing original works, often in found spaces.  As a playwright/producer she partners with organizations to create short plays inspired by area history for the tourism market and when writing for the joy of it, she is happiest as part of a collective, collaborating with actors and artists from a variety of disciplines. Wendy has always been grateful to have spent several years in the Atlantic provinces where she was part of the formative years of PARC, participating in playwright colonies in Fredericton, Halifax and P.E.I. and most recently, in Sackville NB. Play titles include, Slant Boards, Bellies, Knees and Ankles, From the Journals of Harvand Cole (Two Plays from the Fringes), MindLands (which premiered as a one man mixed-media production at Theatre Aquarius) and The Lions and the Lambs.
