BIO

Laura Teasdale’s first gig was singing “Rhinestone Cowboy” on a lumber pile at her dad’s mill when she was three years old. She has been treading the boards ever since. She started performing with Theatre Antigonish when she was twelve and acted in the first season of Festival Antigonish at seventeen. She went to theatre school in Quebec, and then spent the next twenty-five years gratefully making a living as an actor, musician, playwright, teacher, clown & cartoon voice. She has worked at Playwrights’ Workshop Montreal, The National Theatre School, Centaur Theatre, The Saidye Bronfman, Hudson Village, Theatre Lac Brome, YPT, Geordie and Clowns Gone Bad to name just a few. The plays she wrote include Honky Tonk Blue, Being Hank & Patsy, Woodswalker, Home Child, Robin Hood -The Great Escape (with Andrea Boyd) and The Unreliable Narrator. She also writes radio plays. She was recently commissioned to write a murder mystery with a cameo role for Louise Penny. She returned to Nova Scotia about 5 years ago and couldn’t be happier with that decision!
