Synopsis

The story of Sgt. Tommy Ricketts of Middle Arm, White Bay the youngest soldier in the British Empire to ever be awarded the prestigious Victoria Cross. The poignant and heartfelt portrayal follows Ricketts life as a young boy in Middle Arm through his traumatic experiences in World War I to his later years in St. John’s.

Production History

Premiered in 1982 as a co-production between Rising Tide Theatre and Theatre Newfoundland Labrador. Toured Newfoundland and played at LSPU Hall in St. John’s. Remounted as a 70 minute one act play at the 2005 Gros Morne Theatre Festival in Cow Head with Lorne Pardy directing.
