Mercy Hall abandoned her husband and 8 children to follow the path of Henry Alline, a Nova Scotia preacher and mystic. Mercy’s perilous journey towards an intimate communication with God is at the heart of this play with music. Although set at the end of the 18th century, this is a post 9/11 exploration of the need for faith and the dangers of religion.
